"We were like chalk and cheese, but somehow it worked — two albums, a handful of singles, and the whole thing was over in eighteen months." — Alison Moyet

Welcome to Yazoo.se

Yazoo — known as Yaz in North America — were a British synth-pop duo formed in Basildon, Essex in 1982. Comprising former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke on synthesizers and the powerhouse vocalist Alison Moyet, the pair created a unique blend of electronic pop and soulful blues that still sounds fresh decades later.

Despite lasting only eighteen months, Yazoo produced two critically acclaimed albums, a string of hit singles, and left an indelible mark on the electronic music landscape of the 1980s and beyond.
